Menthol, also known as menthol, is a terpenoid organic compound with the chemical formula C10H20O.Menthol is a white crystal extracted from the leaves and stems of peppermint. It is the main ingredient in mint and peppermint essential oils.Menthol generally comes in two isomers (D and L). The natural form of menthol is mainly left isomer (L-menthol), where menthol generally refers to racemic menthol (DL-menthol).

It has a special aroma of mint, which is hot and cool at the beginning.Ethanol solution showed neutral reaction.This product is easily dissolved in ethanol, chloro form, ether, liquid paraffin wax or volatile oil, very slightly dissolved in water
