O-methoxyphe nol is mainly used as an organic synthetic preparation in medicine, pesticide, fragrance and other industries, as well as cosmetics and chemical reagents.

1) For pesticides: 5-nitroguaiacol sodium can be synthesized as plant growth regulator;
