Product Description

 

Vitamin K2, also known as menaquinone, is a fat soluble vitamin and one of the essential vitamins for the human body. In the human body, vitamin K2 is mainly synthesized by intestinal bacteria and is also present in some animal meat products and fermented products, such as animal liver, fermented dairy products, and cheese. Among them, the most abundant source is natto. As a cofactor of gamma glutamine carboxylase, vitamin K2 can activate various vitamin K-dependent proteins and play a key role in cardiovascular and skeletal health.

 

Menaquinone 7 (MK-7) is a vitamin K2 analog that has been found in a variety of fermented foods. It increases osteocalcin, osteoprotegerin, and RANKL mRNA expression in osteoblastic MC3T3E cells. MK-7 (1 μM) increases alkaline phosphatase activity and calcium content in femoral-metaphyseal tissues isolated from normal and skeletal-unloaded rats. In vivo, MK-7 (100 μg/g diet) inhibits aortic and myocardial calcification and decreases aortic alkaline phosphatase tissue concentrations in a rat model of extraosseous calcification. It also increases trabecular number, bone mineral density, and bone mineral content in a rat model of ovariectomy-induced bone loss.

1. Anti osteoporosis. The function of vitamin K2 is to activate the matrix osteocalcin. Under the action of vitamin K2, the activated matrix osteocalcin forms many calcium binding sites on the protein, which can bind with the calcium entering the bone. After the active site binds to the calcium ions entering the bone, the physiological process of bone formation is completed, which makes the human bones hard and able to support weight. If there is a lack of vitamin K2, the matrix osteocalcin cannot be activated, calcium cannot bind to the calcaneal calcium protein, and bone cannot truly form, resulting in calcium loss. The lost calcium enters many other organs in the body and deposits inside them, leading to calcification and causing many diseases. Therefore, vitamin K2 has special significance for calcium fixation in bones and osteoporosis. Comparative experiments have also found that taking vitamin K2 supplements can slow down age-related bone mineral density decline. In addition, Japanese research has found that vitamin K2 reduces spinal fractures by 60%, hip fractures by 77%, and non spinal fractures by 81%.

2. Improve dental health. One of the main regulatory proteins for dental health is osteocalcin, which is a crucial protein for bone metabolism and can be activated by vitamin K2. Dentin is the calcified tissue beneath the enamel on teeth, and osteocalcin can trigger a mechanism that stimulates the growth of new dentin.
 

3. Helps to combat cancer. Vitamin K2 can negatively regulate tyrosine kinase and phosphatase activity associated with cellular carcinogenesis, as well as regulate regulatory factors related to cell proliferation, ultimately leading to tumor cell cycle inhibition and tumor growth.
