Menthyl Lactate (ML) is a peppermint derivative. It is a colorless liquid or white crystal. It is insoluble in water, but soluble in ether, ethanol and oils.It has a weak scent of cold, green chrysanthemum or tobacco, with a very light mint cool, sometimes a little reminiscent of tobacco and chamomile flavor.
